The Report Composer Java File option makes it possible for you to use the web to access block mode reports created by AllFusion:Gen transactions. It offers both web report generation and viewing capabilities.
The web report generation capability lets you create an AllFusion:Gen compliant external action lock that will produce a web report. In addition, you can take an existing block mode report designed with Report Composer and convert it to a web report with minimal effort. The generated external action block can be called from any AllFusion:Gen transaction.
The web report viewing capability allows you to develop an AllFusion:Gen web-enabled transaction that will generate and display a web report on demand. The Java File Option works in tandem with AllFusion:Gen's Web Client Enablement product to accomplish this.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Web Report Generation:
RC-JFO provides a report generation capability that will web enable any block mode report designed with Report Composer. Using the RC-JFO design tool and generator you can create a AllFusion:Gen compliant external action block (EAB) to produce a report that can be viewed from a web browser. The EAB can be called from any AllFusion:Gen transaction.
Web Report Viewing:
RC-JFO offers a report viewing capability that works in tandem with AllFusion:Gen's Web Client Enablement product to deliver reports to the web. Using the RC-JFO View Enabler and Runtime, you can design a AllFusion:Gen transaction that will allow a user to create and view a web report on demand. With Report Composer - Java File Option, viewing the report is made part of the AllFusion:Gen application.
To use the RC-JFO View Enabler, RC-JFO must be installed within a AllFusion:Gen Web Client Enablement environment.
Report Composer - Java File Option consists of four components:
RC-JFO Designer to add web-specific formatting to a block mode report developed with Report Composer.
RC-JFO Generator to create a AllFusion:Gen external action block that will produce a web-enabled report
RC-JFO View Enabler to produce a transaction specific Java Server Page (JSP) and modify the AllFusion:Gen generated HTML and JavaScript files. This is required to on demand viewing of web reports.
RC-JFO Runtime a Java class file that is invoked by the generated Java Server Pages. It contains the logic to render the report to the requesting web page. This is required to on demand viewing of web reports.
